Alii Kiki is a stray that wandered across our deck in August of 1998. It took two months of feeding her on the deck before she would let anyone even touch her. Eventually she would come into the family room for dinner, provided we left the patio door open. Then one day in December the weather turned cold and wet and windy. That evening when we opened the door she bolted in and has been inside ever since. Her common name, Kiki is short for Kitty-Kitty, and Alii is Hawaiian for royal.
